While Bodø is located far north, it is still accessible by train – and the journey is part of the experience. The Nordland Railway (Nordlandsbanen) runs daily between Trondheim and Bodø, offering one of Norway’s most scenic train journeys. Bodø Station is the northern end station of the Nordland Railway, and is in Bodø city center, close to Quality Hotel Ramsalt. The full trip takes around 10 hours, making it a perfect opportunity to enjoy the landscapes of Northern Norway. From Oslo you can take a connecting train to Trondheim.

From Oslo, the drive takes about 17 hours. County Road 17 is the Coastal Route from Steinkjer through Ytre Helgeland to Bodø. Parts of it are a national tourist route, and is a popular “detour” if you want to visit the region before arriving in Bodø. Note that depending on your route, ferries might be included.
